170th Music for Humanity Free Performance Night

December 21 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Free
Bruce T Carroll and Neil Okeson
On the 3rd Saturday of each month, for over 14 years we’ve invited 2-3 outstanding local/regional artists to share their music (both originals & covers). Our featured performers this month are Bruce T. Carroll https://brucetcarroll.com/ and Neil Okeson https://neilokeson.bandcamp.com
Bruce is a singer-songwriter who uses irony and imagery as tools in trade, like shoeing a horse. Neil Okeson is a singer-songwriter living in the Hudson Valley, performing original songs to audiences that weave together humor, joy, and the occasional political jab.
At this event we will announce the winners of our Second Annual Songwriting Contest with a $1000 first prize, $500 runner-up, and five honorable mentions. You can still enter a song online at this link until Tuesday November 26th 9AM: https://musicforhumanity.org/song-writing-contest/ Special thanks to the Songwriting Committee Members: Stuart Kabak, Lisa Markley, and Kurt Henry.
We start promptly at 7:30, but recommend you arrive closer to 6:30 for a seat with table. Noble Coffee will serve a light dinner menu plus a great selection of desserts, coffees & teas. This is a free event. We ask for donations to “pay it forward” to the next generation of musicians. See them at https://musicforhumanity.org/all-scholarship-winners/. If you are financially stressed please join us for free and let the music work its magic… it will.
“Sound Wizardry” by Jim Elwell. This is a “listening room” series. If you enjoy listening to outstanding music in a small intimate room (40-60 people) you’ll love this event.
