2025 Winner

Mike Marotta

Mike teaches at Sussex Academy, a public charter school in Sussex County, DE, that serves students in grades K-12.  He teaches middle and high school music electives, as well as Concert band and Jazz band, and is the faculty sponsor for the school’s Tri-M Music Honor Society.  When not teaching, Mike plays French horn in the Southern Delaware Orchestra, and plays in their brass quintet and horn quartet.  He is also an advocate for community music programs and educational outreach, and enjoys working with musicians in Sussex County.

2022 Winner

Andrew-ONeill

In 2022 Andrew O’Neil, Goshen Elementary School Music Teacher, Goshen NY, was selected as the first recipient of the MFH Music Teacher Appreciation Award and received a $1000 Grant.

2024 Winner

Marissa Gerin

Pictured above is Marissa Gerin the winner of the Third Annual Music Teacher Appreciation Award, a $1000 Grant. Marissa teaches at the St. Cloud Elementary School in West Orange NJ. 2023 Winner

Mark Edwards and Sanjai Leitch

2023 Award Winner Mark Edwards was selected at random to receive the Second Annual Music Teacher Appreciation Award, a $1000 Grant. Mark is a full-time music teacher at Success Academy Flatbush in Brooklyn NY. He is pictured with one of his students Sanjai Leitch.
