192nd Music for Humanity Free Performance Night
On the 3rd Saturday of each month, we invite 2-3 outstanding local/regional artists to share their music (both originals & covers), and sometimes classical, jazz, flamenco, etc. This event completes our 16th year. Our featured performers this month are Robert Bidney and Andy Shapiro.
Robert Bidney, based in Ft. Myers, Florida, is an award-winning, touring singer-songwriter whose messages are as strong as his melodies. He received an Honorable Mention in the first Music For Humanity Song Writer Competition in 2023 with his song, “It’s All About The Love.”
Bidney connects with his audiences through infectious energy and emotion. His third album “Thank Goodness” earned accolades along with strong charting success on Folk and Americana radio. Bidney’s work has been praised by such media notables as Ben Fong-Torres of Rolling Stone, Lee Zimmerman of Goldmine Magazine, Jon Stein of WTBQ 93.5FM in New York and Elise Cady of Americana Highways Magazine. Andy Shapiro…
For what it’s worth… it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. Andy dreamed about writing songs and started studying when he was 62. He released his first album, “Find My Way Home,” when he was 66, which received honorable mention at the Empower Music Awards.
His second album is recorded but yet unreleased because he had a calling to focus on a musical memoir called Strings Of Hope which includes stories and songs that show how hope can survive through dark times.
His songs blend his musical influences of Americana, Blues, Country and Folk to tell heartfelt stories that he feels need to be told. https://www.instagram.com/andyshapiromusic.
We start promptly at 7:30, but recommend you arrive closer to 6:30 for a seat with table. Noble Coffee will serve a light dinner menu plus a great selection of desserts, coffees & teas.
This is a free event. We accept tax-deductible donations to “pay it forward” to the next generation of musicians. See them at https://musicforhumanity.org. If you are financially stressed please join us for free and let the music work its magic… it will.
This is a “listening room” series. If you enjoy listening to outstanding music in a small intimate room (40-60 people) you’ll love this event.
If you can’t make it please subscribe to our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@musicforhumanity-1. We’ll post the videos the following week.
