Once a year on the last Sunday of July we honor the legacy of Bill Perry who was born in the Village of Chester NY and died on July 17, 2007 in Sugar Loaf, in the Town of Chester NY.



This is the 5th annual Bill Perry Day. It starts at 11;30AM and continues until 7:15PM. Bring a blanket, some chairs, a cooler and enjoy an afternoon of great music. Performers include Barry Adelman, Lords of the Parish, Dan Brother and John Bendy, Bill Perry's Lovesick Homeboys, John Reddan and more. This is a family oriented, free live musical event open to the entire community. 


 At 5:10 we will present Four Music for Humanity Scholarships, one in honor of Bill Perry.


The award recipients are:


Maxfied Panish (from East Hampton NY, graduating East Hampton High School & attending Manhattan School of Music 


Phakamani Pega (from South Africa & attending Berkee School of Music)


Tyler Odell (from Pine Bush NY & attending SUNY Fredonia School of Music) 


The Music for Humanity Bill Perry Scholarship goes to Lauren Lazzari (from New Hampton NY, graduating Minisink High School and attending Westminster Choir College at Rider University)


$8500 in music scholarships will be awarded.

Masters of the Guitar - Music for Humanity Annual Fund Raiser

This is our annual fund raiser concert and we've invited two extraordinary guitarists, John Sheehan and Charles Mokotoff to share their gifts with us. Both of them are true masters and lifelong students of the instrument. If you love classical and/or finger picking guitar you will walk out of this concert shaking your head in amazement at their virtuosity.

At 5:45 we will present 3 Music for Humanity Scholarships, one in honor of Bill Perry, to local graduating high school seniors to help them continue their music education.

Music for Humanity Concert Fund Raiser & Silent Auction

Only 200 seats available for "the concert" of the fall season. This concert fund raiser will be held in the Senior Center at 36 Bridge St in Montgomery NY on Saturday night October 23rd.


Doors will open at 7PM for the silent auction and raffle. The concert will begin at 8PM.


This concert is a Broadway-Opera Fusion featuring songs, arias and duets including highlights from Man of La Mancha, West Side Story, La Traviata, Don Giovanni, Porgy and Bess, and more...

performed by two incredible singers: John Cimino and Julie Ziavras. They will be accompanied on piano by Judith Schaaf, a consummate professional.


"Both John and Julie are experienced and wonderful singers who complement each other beautifully. I've heard them together (doing this music) and it was one of the finest musical events I've ever attended. This concert is worthy of a performance on Broadway, Lincoln Center or Carnegie Hall"
