Music is an International Language that Transcends All Boundaries and Builds the Invisible Roads & Bridges that Connect Our Hearts & Souls.

More music means more connections and more connections means a better world for all of us. Music for Humanity’s mission is to spread more music throughout the world by “planting” music seeds. Locally we do that by presenting the monthly Music for Humanity Free Performance Night. Nationally and globally we do it by offering scholarships to young aspiring musicians who need financial help to

continue their formal education, as a music major, at any accredited college or university in the United States. Those musicians become, in essence, ambassadors for Music for Humanity. Our current mission is offering music education scholarships. We raise money for our scholarships through Concerts,  Free Performance Nights and Tax-Deductible Donations.

The Story of Music for Humanity

In 2005, Co-Founder Barry Adelman heard a whisper like in the movie Field of Dreams.

This whisper didn’t say “Build it and he will come”. It simply said “Music for Humanity”.

Barry turned around to see who had said it, but no one was there. A few minutes later he heard it again. Still, no one was there.

Barry thought that maybe this whisper came because of some recent spiritual songs he had written; he knew he had to act on it. After a little research he discovered that someone had reserved the name “Music for Humanity” on the web, but there was no website.

A little more research led him to his future Co-Founder Kurt Irmiter who had reserved the name in 2001. Kurt also had an idea to use music to benefit Humanity.

To tap the power of the listener enjoying music and the musicians creating and performing music to benefit and improve the world. As soon as Barry contacted Kurt they struck a chord and teamed up to form MusicForHumanity.org.

After doing fund raisers for the Red Cross and for Big Brothers Big Sisters it dawned on them that Music itself was worthy of being supported. They realized that despite our political, religious, ethic & financial differences, Music brought us together.

They began spreading more music with a monthly Free Performance Night and by giving music scholarships to young aspiring musicians. These scholarship recipients became “Music Ambassadors” and helped spread more music.

Music builds the invisible roads & bridges to connect our hearts, our souls. In today’s divisive world we need those connections more than ever. More Music means more connections, which means a better world for all of us. Help us spread more music throughout the world.
