DESCRIPTION:Music for Humanity is honored to feature Reggie Harris on Saturday Dec. 10th 7:30PM at Noble Coffee Roasters.  Doors will open to the public at 7PM Noble will serve a light dinner menu plus coffees\, teas and desserts. Only 50 Tickets available in advance at $25 each. Tickets at the door are $30. You can only buy tickets below in advance. Reserve yours today. Reggie will sing many of his award winning songs including his tribute song to Pete Seeger “High Over the Hudson.” \nReggie Harris is a songwriter of great depth and passion and writes from a personal sense of mission that merges a world wise point of view with a singularly hopeful stance that life\, though often challenging\, is filled with possibility and hope. \nSinger-songwriter\, storyteller and world-renowned song-leader who is a powerful interpreter of the global music narrative\, Reggie Harris is a passionate\, engaging inspirational entertainer and concert artist. He is recognized for focusing new energy on the important role of music in the discourse for inclusion and the struggle for human rights using the lessons of history as a base. As an expert on the music of the Underground Railroad and the Modern Civil Rights Movement Reggie is at home on stage as performer\, lecturer or leading discussions in seminars or in the classroom. \nA 2021 winner of both the Spirit of Folk Award from Folk Alliance International and the W.E.B. Du Bois Legacy Award\, Reggie is a charismatic community builder who was featured in 2020 on CNN’s “Silence is Not An Option with Don Lemon.” He was also featured with his white cousins in The New York Times to discuss his familial connection as the descendant of slavery as a great-great-great grandson of confederate General Williams Carter Wickham and his slave Bibhanna Hewlett. \nReggie is teaching artist in the Kennedy Center’s CETA program (Changing Education Through the Arts) and a fellow for the prestigious Council of Independent College lecture program. He also serves as Co-President and Director of Music Education for the Living Legacy Project\, an advocacy group that sponsors Civil Rights pilgrimages throughout the South and online education seminars worldwide. \nReggie’s April 2021 release “On Solid Ground” is a collection of 13 songs compiled in response to the challenges and changes in American civic circles stirred by the CoVid pandemic and years of racial and political unrest that erupted post the murders of George Floyd\, Breonna Taylor and thousands of others. SUMMARY:146th Music for Humanity Free Performance Night
DESCRIPTION:On the 3rd Saturday of each month\, for over 12 years\, we’ve invited 2-3 outstanding local/regional performers to share their music\, both originals & covers. Foc December 17th we have Marji Zintz and Bones Krew. It will be an outstanding evening of music. If you enjoy listening to great music in a small intimate setting (50 people) you’ll love the event. This is a free event. We ask for donations\, but if you’re feeling financially stressed please join us for free and let the music work its magic… it will. “Sound Wizardry” by Jim Elwell.
