This is a very late MFH Free Performance Recap from Saturday April 21st. The night included great covers, originals and a couple of sing-a-longs. It was another great musical evening. Here's how it went: Mike Tomasulo started us off with a set of all covers: Just Say Yeah, Name, Fountain of Sorrow, Don't Come Easy, Naked Ride Home, Story in Your Eyes, Barricades of Heaven and The Pretender. Barry Adelman played a few originals including Come to Me My Love and 20 Years Around the Clock. Paul Siegel played an all original set including Dressed Up, Long Meadow, Next to You, If Only, Time, Free of Fear, Caterpillar. You can find out more about Paul here: http://www.paulsiegel.com/

What a great night we had last night. We had 3 very outstanding musical performances. Here's how the night went: Greg Melnick played a set of Flamenco music which included Soleares, Malaguena, Sevillanas, Danza Mora and Farrucca. Greg also taught us a little bit about Flamenco and his love for it. http://www.hvmusic.com/listing/bands_detail.php?listing_id=1045 Barry Adelman followed with a mini-set of If You Could Read My Mind and two originals: It's Time and More than You Know. Trio with Laura Birdsong, Steve Vecchiotti and Delaynie Cusick did a set of both covers and Laura's originals. It included Whiskey Girl, The Sun Will Shine, 1952 Vincent Black Lightening, Speed of the Sound of Loneliness, Come & Go, Angel from Montgomery, Water Wind & Touch and Paradise. http://laurabirdsong.com/ Loretta Hagen closed out the evening for us with what might have been the best set we've ever had at these Music for Humanity Free Performance Nights. She was accompanied by her husband Gary Hagen on guitar and Linda Lambiase on percussion. Gary played some beautiful guitar solos and Linda was outstanding as were their harmonies. We had an wonderful musical evening on Saturday night thanks to 3 outstanding performances by Frank Costantino, Andy Zook and Helen Avakian, http://helenavakian.com/ Here's how the night went: Frank Costantino started us off with a set that included: Wonderwall, City of Ruins, Message in a Bottle and Around Here. Barry Adelman followed with a mini-set of If You See Her Say Hello, Tangled Up in Blue and Woman From the North Country (original). Andy Zook (https://www.facebook.com/apzook?ref=ts) was up next and did all originals: Talk & Talk, Columbia, Claim, Lost Feel, Washington, Go Find Your Love. Jim Elwell did a mini-set of Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Sin City and In the Air Tonight Helen Avakian closed out the evening for us with a magical set. It was so magical I've forgotton some of the songs, but it included You Pulled Me Out (here's the original by The Green Cards - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDXiBM_Vmuo), I Love the Moon (original), an exquisite instrumental of Rhapsody in Blue and a wonderful singalong feel good song: I Want to Be Your Blanket. We had an incredible musical evening last night. This was an especially good one because all 3 performers were outstanding. Here's how the night went: Jean Cassels started us off with the following set: Leaving Las Vegas, Time After Time, Say What You Need to Say, Ballad of Dan Murphy (original) and ended with a great interpretation of Like a Rolling Stone. Barry Adelman followed with a mini-set of Summer & Snow (original), Main Street (Dave Mallett) and Another Year (original). Ron Renninger (http://www.ronrenninger.com/) was up next and did four originals: Just Waiting for You, No Matter How Big You Are, Boundaries, The Forecast is Good, If Time were a Highway. Ron asked Jean to join him on his last song, a cover of Get Together by the Youngbloods. It was a great version and we all joined in.
