The MFH Bill Perry Scholarship:

Hellol friends,

We recently partnered with Rachel Bertoni who started a scholarship fund called “The Bill Perry Scholarship Fund” in honor of Bill Perry, a Chester NY native who died in July 2007. The purpose of the scholarship is to help keep alive Bill’s name. MFH is providing matching funds and will administer and grant this Scholarship each year.

We are happy to announce that the "Music For Humanity Bill Perry Scholarship" (the first MFH scholarship) was awarded Sunday July 27,008 at the Bertoni Gallery in Sugar Loaf. The scholarship was given to Kelly Vandemark, a Chester Academy graduate.

Bill Pery was one of the greatest musicians to come from Orange County. He was born in the Village of Chester and died last year in the Town of Chester. He was truly one of the greatest blues players ever. He could play with BB King or Eric Clapton and anyone else.
